Frequently Asked Questions
How is your office handling government mandated Covid restrictions?
We follow and enforce state and federally mandated safety measures. Considering any coming changes to mandates, our staff has voiced a preference that all visitors to the office wear facemasks and follow social distancing protocols. Due to the evolving situation, we ask our clients to respect the fact that there are high-risk and medically fragile individuals in our community who require everyone’s consideration to survive these uncertain times.
How much do you charge?
- Our fee for personal income tax return preparation starts at $345 and the fee increases based on complexity. Most of our personal income tax returns fall somewhere between our minimum and about $1,200.
- Our fee for business income tax return preparation starts at $735 and the fee increases based on complexity. Most start-up, closely held businesses fall somewhere between our minimum and $1,600.
Do I have to have an appointment?
We offer traditional face-to-face tax appointments (please refer to Covid FAQ), video and phone meetings, and completely remote service for our clients who are either busy or far away.
How can I get my documents to you?
If the images are legible, we don’t need original documents. This means you can request a secure email or use our client portal to upload scanned copies of your documents. You can also hand your documents off to our front desk staff during business hours, drop the documents into the secure lock box on our suite door after business hours, or mail documents at your leisure.
What are your hours? Can I get a Saturday appointment?
- From about the middle of January until the middle of April our office hours are 9am to 7pm Monday through Friday with Saturday appointments available upon request.
- During the rest of the year our office hours are 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday with Friday and Saturday appointments available upon request.
Do my business records have to be in accounting software?
For most businesses entity tax returns we prefer traditional accounting reports. However, there are some instances where other forms of information may be sufficiently acceptable.
Can I get tax advice if I’m not a client?
Our primary focus is our clients, but we do offer consultations to non-clients at a rate of $175 per hour.
